If you have a battery charger, you can perform the bleed procedure yourself. You do NOT fill reservoir as full as you possibly can - if you do, it will overflow when expansion occurs as engine warms. See your Owner's Manual for precise procedure for checking coolant level on your model, but generally, you check it when the engine is cool, and add coolant (50/50 mix) until indicator float is protruding above reservoir top by the proper amount. So the level may be low in the coolant reservoir, causing the light to come on until the coolant in the system expands as the engine warms, and then the switch opens and the light goes out (due to higher level of coolant in the reservoir. Keep in mind that a "Low Coolant" warning light does NOT mean that your engine is running too warm (as long as you do NOT have EITHER an Overheat warning light based on engine coolant temperature, OR a high oil temperature reading per the gauge on the dash). Click to expand.ANY liquid (including 50% ethylene glycol/distilled water mix -) expands as it warms.
